Off to London ComiCon!!! See you there? Saw you there?
Full of cold. *achoo!*
("bless you")
Uh, thanks.
*achoo!*

The high-key look, the model's pose, the full-frame composition, the focus points and the hair, make-up and clothing all combine to give an air of innocence and simplicity to this image.

I am not 100% sure it needs the grain in the shot but that may be a result of camera settings rather than aesthetic choice and - of course - my personal taste. There are no rules.

I also feel that there is not a huge amount of story in this picture. That's fine - not everything needs a ton of story in it after all, some things are just beautiful to look at - but I feel that the opportunity was there. Perhaps it is all in her look which is genuinely complex (congratulations to your model as well as to you for that :D ) - and, of course, beauty and story are both always in the eye and mind of the beholder of a photograph. As the photographer you can reach out, fill the shot with your intention and have it fly over the head of the person viewing, for no reason at all.

So, in summary, this is a lovely piece of work, well executed and effective. It's a simple piece and none the worse for that - excellent stuff!
I always like going to the Expo and this year my son took the mantle of 4th Doctor, and was rightly lionised in many photos. Jelly babies were handed out and sonic screwdrivers were posed with. I was Generic Jedi #47 with the exception of having a massive camera on my utility belt where the lightsaber might hang normally.

As Master Yoda says: "Always in motion, the future is. To capture it, a fast shutter speed you will need, yes."

I did have a lightsaber (bladeless) on the belt too and keenly wished I had managed to bring a bladed one after a while.

Rule #1 of ComicCon - you can't take it lightly: go full out and don't spare the details or effort or YOU will regret it. There may (probably will) be better costumes but if yours is as good as it can be then you won't have regrets.

But I did get to kill an Ewok! Bit "Dark Side" I know but hey, it's an Ewok. Those things eat people...

Hmmm - what to say? Well, oddly, I probably put more effort into writing than photography. Maybe that's 'cos it's harder? If I could draw worth squat I would - watch this space, as they say.
