My Bio

I think it would be simpler to say less about myself honestly... but maybe here's a haiku:

"Mistersaxon" is

a four-syllable handle

for a one-word guy.

No? I do limericks...

A guy, Mistersaxon by name,

Once posted some art for the fame

but the girls and the cash

were ephemeral trash

and his life really went on the same.

Still not getting it across. Heroic stanzas maybe? I was granted the title of "The Bard of Bright Weavings" by Guy Gavriel Kay himself so I think I can do this if I try:

Bold he stood there, Mistersaxon:

Strong and handy with an ax an'

bow, his weapons brightly gleaming,

sharper than his wits in seeming -

bold he stood there, art displaying

(every month for Core still paying).

Bold he strode forth, Mistersaxon,

wishing for a friend called Jackson

just to give some chance to rhyme

with his name another time!

Strong and true the oath he swore:

To rhyme his user name no more!

Boldly Mistersaxon shot -

his camera aimed at God knows what -

and from the images he captured

crafted artworks that enraptured...

... only him, his page views tell us,

yet his art he'll try to sell us.

See him now, the sunset glowing

on his brow, his bald spot showing.

Boldy yet he stands before us,

greeted by a rousing chorus:

"Stop with all the pics and stuff -

just give us llamas, that's enough!"

Ok so a firmware update (1.62) has bricked my Nikon Z7 ii   I'm still waiting to hear back from Nikon about how to get my very expensive paperweight working again - other reports on the web suggest they will try and charge me for this because their 5 year warranty on cameras does not cover "electronics" - those get 1 year for some ungodly reason. I mean, most of the camera is electronics apart from the chassis itself and maybe the mechanical shutter so I'm bracing for a fight. In the meantime I guess I'm back to the D750 - which is a lovely camera, glad I didn't sell it yet - but it's bulky and heavy, which was the main reason I went to the mirrorless camera. Also I have sold quite a few of the old F-mount lenses and there is no Z-to-F adapter, only the other way around. tl;dr Don't do firmware upgrades unless you need whatever they are providing and don't use the Nikon Snapbridge app to update firmware - go with a memory card instead. The app looks like it is

My boiler-plate comment on folks putting up AI art is going to be this: "Hi! I should say you've courted controversy with these posts: AI-generated content really doesn't count as art. It's more like posting your google searches and calling the results "literature". Don't get me wrong - the art can be pretty, the idea may be solid, but just posting the AI art is not good. We can all do that and it adds nothing to the site. Treat AI art like a smart brush or a stock resource, PAY FOR IT and make sure the artists used to make the AI image are also paid (comment to the AI site provider requesting details of the contributors and details of how they are being paid and don't accept "it's all public" as a reply because that does NOT mean it is copyright-free or redistributable) If you actually created these by hand I'd love to see a WIP video of them being made though - imitating the weird AI artefacts is a fun commentary on the process but you need to make it clear that it is deliberate
